Aussie Broadband Wifi Slam |
Bespoke Activation ‘Strongman Hammer Strike’
BRIEF
Rentertainment was approached by INVNT for their client Aussie Broadband to create a custom Strongman Hammer Strike activation for the 2025 Sydney Royal Easter Show. The client required Rentertainment to develop the electrical, mechanical and the software needed to make this activation come alive. They came to the right place!
Rentertainment had only 30 days from approval to go live date so there was no time for taking our time. Once Rentertainment received approval we were straight to work with our development team.
ACTIVATION
The Sydney Royal Easter Show in Homebush runs for 12 days so we needed to ensure the service was fast paced for huge crowds to participate, and robust and hard-wearing enough for an extremely high turnover. We also had to ensure it was challenging enough for adults and kids alike.
From April 11 to April 22 this Wifi Slam activation was live from 8am to 8pm each day.
The set up consisted of a durable sensor plate for participants to strike with the hammer, with an in-built pressure system to detect the intensity of the strike. This was integrated with the software to then display the force visually on a screen for participants and on-lookers to view. The software was developed to include real time scoring, a top-score leaderboard, a feedback system with sound effects and animation.
There was an iPad to collect participants data for both lead generation and to display scores on the leaderboard.
OUTCOME
Due to the constant high impact both the software and mechanics needed to sustain for 12 days, Rentertainment provided support to the onsite teams to ensure the service had no downtime, should anything go wrong. Rentertainment also created two physical set-ups, so there was a back-up to be swapped in if there were any issues.
Rentertainment received excellent feedback from the client and agency regarding the set up, how it functioned and our ability to problem solve and fix technical issues quickly to ensure next-to-no downtime occurred.
Over the 12 days and 144 hours of running time the Wifi Slam carried out 11,011 sessions! Safe to say it was certainly a hit. The Wifi Slam ensured loads of fun was had by MANY people at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, and our client left happy with the engagement and lead generation.
