Leica Flagship Melbourne Store Opening | Hologram
BRIEF
Leica Camera Australia Technologies approached Rentertainment to create an engaging activation for their flagship store opening in Melbourne CBD to feature their latest camera in our hologram experience.
Due to logistical constraints, our standard hologram system was unable to fit into the building. We therefore developed a modified version that still looked and operated in the same fashion but was slightly smaller so able to fit in the lift.
ACTIVATION
It was a must to use the new Leica camera to create the holograms so we ensured this was used on the night. Leica also wanted the hologram to appear as though guests were stepping into a magazine, to facilitate this we created an overlay on the hologram to make it appear as though each participant was the magazine cover. The client wanted to ensure that everyone could easily share their experience from the night to help generate brand awareness for their impressive new store. To achieve this, we used a custom video booth to film guests interacting with their own holograms. It was a tonne of fun!
The activation took place on a Thursday evening in September 2024, many influencers attended and shared their experiences from the night.
Rentertainment had four team members for bump in, to run the event and bump out. It was a smooth activation with lots of participation and interest from the guests, with no issues on the night.
OUTCOME
The store was beautiful and we had a fantastic area to set up in. The hologram looked striking in the visible space of the store that we were given, it ensured onlookers could see what was going on and encouraged everyone to have a turn. The feedback received on the night was very positive. Guests were enjoying the hologram and interacting with both the Leica camera and the hologram. It was a unique and interactive way to highlight the new camera in their brand-new flagship store.
